All small businesses that make it big have one thing in common – humble beginnings. Every business faces unique challenges & opportunities that lead them to failure and eventually, success. In case of MSMEs, they’re the backbone of many developing economies, contributing to as much as 35% of the GDP. Although 31% of small businesses in the US are owned by women entrepreneurs, in South Asia, this number is not nearly as impressive. But thanks to the grit, determination and the desire to break the glass ceiling amidst the patriarchal society, the leading women of the modern Asia are making the most of the opportunities on a global scale.
We bring to you one such story of perseverance and will power of one Nishadi Vipulasena, a successful entrepreneur from Sri Lanka, who in just 5 years took her small business international.
“I had a corporate job till I got married. But I wanted to have free time to spend with my son and husband, so, I chose to do business. I started a small one but now it’s expanded to import and export,” Vipulasena said with the reminiscent smile on her face.
Nishadi started Niwahana Feed Materials Pvt. Ltd. in 2016 with short term goals and sound planning. Showcasing a wide range of food essentials, Niwahana Feed Materials had its fair share of struggles.
“The challenge was finding genuine buyers who could facilitate recurring orders,” Vipulsena quipped. “We tried several platforms including Alibaba but honestly it was useless.”
So how did she connect with the right buyers?
“We joined go4WorldBusiness and saw a remarkable difference in the quality of buy leads and contacts we received on this website. Here, we could find complete details in each category easily,” quoted Vipulsena.
“There are thousands of buyers and seller, especially, the gold members on go4worldbusiness.com but on other platforms; they do not expose seller / buyers contacts”

Becoming a Gold member with go4WorldBusiness opened up a lot of avenues for Vipulsena’s company and she finally got her big break through the website when she connected with Sri Lanka’s leading Supermarket chain.
“I found a great buyer in Sri Lanka’s leading supermarket chain through go4worldbusiness. We connected immediately and now we have a great business relationship. Niwahana feed materials are the one who import whole red lentils and palm oil for them. Also we are the ones who process whole red lentils in our processing mill.”
Nishadi beamed in happiness in adding that her company has many future plans with them.
Once the first big deal came through, the flood gates somehow opened for Niwahana Feeds.
“Becoming a gold member presented great opportunities for us. Lots of gold members and buyers keep sending inquiries to us.”
When asked how Covid-19 impacted her business, Nishadi eloquently responded – “Understanding of the current situation in the world market is key. Work with trustworthy parties and never make advance payments.”
It was this clarity of business ethics that helped Vipulsena connect with the right people and grow her small business into a global scale EXIM business.
When asked what advice she would like to give to new businesses, Vipulsena was all praise for the platform that helped her find and connect with trustworthy business partners – “go4WorldBusiness is the best platform for international trading. It was so helpful for me to expand our business. I hope to stay with them for a long time.”
Ms Vipulsena is a gold member with go4WorldBusiness since 2021 and has in this time, expanded her business internationally.
